Murder in a Car

The police found a murdered man in a car. The windows of the car were raised, the doors were locked, and the keys were inside, in the man’s hands. The man was shot several times with a gun, but there were no holes anywhere on the car. How is this possible?

The car was convertible, with the top retracted back.

  1. Solution that doesn’t involve obvious and important information being left out:

Murderer is outside car. Shoots man. Then reaches arm inside and activates electric window switch, retracting his arm as the window closes. *Note: most cars I’m familiar will will open/close fully with a single switch activator, though the time this riddle was developed, that may not have been the case.

  2. How about the man shooting himself? It still meets all the criteria, doesn’t it?

  3. wow i was really shocked by this amazing yet subtle riddle. It spoke to me in way no ever has. 10/10 would do it again.
