Girls Rock

What are the names of the three girls in this rock band?

T _ _ _ _ & D _ _ _ _ _ _ & L _ _ _

The vocalist’s name is Tessa. On her notebook it is written “I’m diving into the DARK gloom End to start“. On the poster in the top right corner it is written DARK and underneath ASSET. “Asset” spelled backwards becomes TESSA.

The bassist’s name is Delilah. Her shirt features a cat, which is also present on the Freddy Mercury poster. The lyrics written on it are from the song “Delilah” by Queen.

The drummer’s name is Lisa. Inside her backpack there is a copy of the book “1984” by G. Orwell. On her backpack there is a sticker which also appears on the poster behind Delilah. The poster says “Local punk’o’matIc AnarchiSts bazAr”. If one selects the 1st, the 9th, the 8th, and the 4th letters from each word, the resulting name is LISA.

Bicycle Tracks

You are chasing a criminal riding a bicycle, and you find his tracks left in the dirt. By investigating the tracks, can you determine which direction the criminal has fled to: left or right?

The front wheels of the bicycle are traveling more distance and making sharper turns. Thus, the red tracks (as shown on the image below) correspond to the front wheel, and the green tracks correspond to the back wheel.

Then, since the back wheel is always pointing towards the front wheel, we conclude that the bicycle is moving towards the right.

On Fire

Slylock Fox and Max Mouse needed the rope on the ground to escape, but none of the onlookers could throw it as high as their window. However, Slylock and his sidekick found a solution and managed to escape the fire. What did they do?

Slylock asked the fisherman to cast his line to their window. After the fishing line was in Slylock’s hands, he told the beaver to remove the remaining line from the reel and tie it to the end of the rope. Slylock used the line to pull the rope up and then went down along it.

Camping Challenge

Look carefully at the picture below and answer the questions.

1. How many tourists are staying at this camp?
2. When did they arrive: today or a few days ago?
3. How did they get here?
4. How far away is the closest village?
5. Where does the wind blow: from the north or from the south?
6. What time of day is it?
7. Where did Alex go?
8. Who was on duty yesterday? (Give their name)
9. What day is it today?

1. There are 4 people.
2. They arrived a few days ago, enough so that a spider web can appear on the tent.
3. Judging by the paddles, they got there with boats.
4. There is a hen walking around the camp, so the closest village is not far away.
5. The leaves of the trees are larger at the south side, so the wind must be blowing from the South.
6. The shadow is pointing towards West, so it must be morning.
7. Alex went to catch butterflies.
8. Since Peter is on duty today – cooking food for the group, it was Colin on duty yesterday.
9. Today is August 8. Watermelons ripen in August.

Under Water

The diving bell that Slylock Fox and Max Mouse are using has snapped its chain. A rescue team can reach Slylock and Max within 20 minutes, but there are only 15 minutes of air left. What will Slylock do?

He will use the lug wrench to remove the sunken car’s tires and release their air into the diving bell.

Gunshots

Two gunshots were fired through the window of a coffee shop. When the police arrived, they successfully recognized which gunshot was fired first. Which was the first gunshot and how did they figure that out?

The cracks of the left gunshot end up right at the cracks of the right gunshot. Therefore the first gunshot is the one on the right.

The Bank Robber

Harry Ape robbed a bank yesterday and has been hiding in the bitterly cold forest. Max Mouse found Harry’s clothes near a hole in the pond ice. Why does Slylock Fox believe that Harry is nearby?

Slylock thinks Harry fell through the ice, and after climbing out of the water, took off his wet clothes due to the frigid temperatures. The sleuth suspects the ape is nearby because the wet clothes are still unfrozen.

The Stolen Tools

Tools were stolen from a construction site. Max Mouse found footprints and a tire track, leading him to believe there were two thieves – one walking and the other riding a bike. Even though Slylock Fox believes both tracks are related to the robbery, he suspects there was only one thief. Why?

The tire track cannot be from a bike. The tracks were left by one thief pushing a wheelbarrow, full of stolen tools.

Murder or Suicide

Examine the picture and determine whether the woman was killed or she committed a suicide.

This was a murder, which was supposed to look like a suicide. These are some of the reasons:

1. The dead person has not finished their cigarette yet, which is a normal thing to do when someone commits a suicide.
2. The person is left-handed, judging by the position of the pen and the lamp, but is holding the gun in their right hand.
3. It was supposed to look like the person was writing a death note before killing themselves, but it is night and the lamp is not plugged in.
